1. Who We Are
GluNaSafe ("we", "our", "us") is an AI-powered diabetes food safety companion developed to help people with diabetes make safer food choices across Southeast Asia. Our app is available at glunasafe.com and through the Google Play Store.

2. What Information We Collect
Information You Provide
- Profile data — your name (optional), diabetes type, daily carb limit, medications (optional), and HbA1c readings
- Food scan photos — photos you take or upload to scan food items
- Meal history — food items you scan and their safety results
- Payment information — if you subscribe to Premium, payment is processed by our third-party payment provider. We do not store your card details.
Information Collected Automatically
- Device information — device type, operating system, browser type
- Usage data — which features you use, scan frequency, country food picker selections
- Language preference — your selected language (English, Thai, Bahasa Indonesia, Vietnamese)
Information We Do NOT Collect
- We do not collect precise GPS location
- We do not access your contacts or call logs
- We do not collect data from other apps on your device
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Analyse food photos and return nutritional and safety results
- Personalise advice based on your diabetes type and carb limits
- Display your meal history and monthly food log
- Send HbA1c test reminders (only if you enable this)
- Process Premium subscriptions
- Improve our food database and AI accuracy
- Comply with applicable laws
4. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with:
- AI processing providers — food scan photos are sent to our AI vision provider (e.g. Anthropic / Google Vision API) solely to identify food items. Photos are not stored by these providers beyond the immediate analysis.
- Payment processors — Stripe, PayNow, PayPal, or Apple Pay process payments. They operate under their own privacy policies.
- Analytics providers — anonymised, aggregated usage data only. No individual health data is shared.
- Legal requirements — we may disclose data if required by law, court order, or government authority in Singapore or your country of residence.
5. Your Health Data
Food scan results, meal history, HbA1c readings, and diabetes profile information are health-related data. We treat this with the highest level of care:
- Health data is encrypted in transit (TLS 1.3) and at rest (AES-256)
- Health data is never used for advertising
- Health data is never sold to third parties
- You may delete all your health data at any time from your Profile settings
Important: GluNaSafe is an informational companion tool, not a medical device. We do not share your health data with healthcare providers, insurance companies, or employers unless you explicitly use the Doctor Sharing feature (Premium).
6. Data Storage and Regional Compliance
GluNaSafe operates across Southeast Asia. We comply with the following data protection laws:
- Singapore — Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA) 2012
- Thailand — Personal Data Protection Act B.E. 2562 (PDPA)
- Philippines — Data Privacy Act of 2012 (Republic Act 10173)
- Indonesia — Law No. 27 of 2022 on Personal Data Protection
- Vietnam — Decree No. 13/2023/ND-CP on Personal Data Protection
- Malaysia — Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (PDPA)
Your data is stored on servers located in Singapore. For users in Vietnam, data processing complies with Vietnam's data localisation requirements.
7. Data Retention
- Meal history — retained for 12 months, then automatically deleted unless you are a Premium subscriber (retained for 24 months)
- Profile data — retained until you delete your account
- Scan photos — not stored after analysis is complete
- Payment records — retained for 7 years as required by financial regulations
8. Your Rights
Depending on your country, you have the right to:
- Access — request a copy of your personal data
- Correction — correct inaccurate data
- Deletion — delete your account and all associated data
- Portability — receive your data in a machine-readable format
- Objection — object to certain types of processing
- Withdrawal of consent — withdraw consent at any time

9. Children's Privacy
GluNaSafe is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
Users aged 13–17 should use the app with parental or guardian consent.
10. Cookies and Local Storage
GluNaSafe uses browser local storage to save your profile, meal history, and language preference on your device. This data stays on your device and is not transmitted to our servers unless you explicitly sync your account.
We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking cookies.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by displaying a notice in the app. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will always reflect the most recent version.
Continued use of GluNaSafe after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
